Security sticker on my passport - why?

They aren't baggage receipts. They usually are applied to the back of your boarding pass or given to you on a separate slip.

Baggage receipts look like the attached. I've had baggage receipts stuck to my passport before.

Am i the only one who doesn't mind the security stickers on the back of my passport?

However I do hate the baggage receipts being stuck on the back.

All the VS security stickers on the back of my passport once resulted in me and Mr D. being given an op up from PE to UC - LAX to LHR. The check in lady said "They like to look after their loyal customers". So as a result I don't mind my passport being covered with the stickers.

I get a little frisson of excitement if that happens I feel like I've beaten the pointless system.

Mine's from Asprey but never handed over to the agents with the passport!

If you ever apply for an Indian Visa through vsglobal in Birmingham they use huge stickers with aerospace grade adhesive that remains on the passport collecting a nice fluffy covering. Tried to remove it with solvent and the burgundy colouring started to come off!

To remove the glue after having removed the sticker, use a small amount of WD40 on a clean cloth. Works like a charm.

I see on the VS fb page that slinks has caused a security sticker war/contest.

Edit to add that I just had a proper look at the 2 and see that the FB person has nothing compared to our slinky.

South African Airways did not put a sticker on my passport when I flew LHR - JNB or back a few weeks ago.

I agree it is unnecessary and makes a mess of the back cover of your passport. Do BA put a similar sticker on?

Nope BA don't.

But they did firmly stick my luggage receipt over my VS security labels so it was difficult to remove it !

True about the luggage tags, though I find they come off easily, even when on the VS labels...

Fun times to be had removing your bullsh!t security sticker (the result of outsourcing visa and passport checking) between the lounge and the gate...
