Catsilversword, I've been looking at NYC flights and EDI-NYC are coming out the same as LHR-NYC so looks like VS include connecting flights as well

Meh not bad prices across the board, if happy with the price book it.. if not don't :P

No doubt will be more sales, or as some have been dubbing it 'VS lowering their prices' in the face of competition, in coming months for last minute stuff and next year's holidays.

Have faith people for VS and BA 8D

They're not bad - certainly no Clubhouse though! The main ones at LHR T3 & 5 (and JFK I think) have an Elemis spa, a fairly basic hot & cold buffet (salad, quiche, sandwiches, chilli, pasta, curry, jacket potatoes) and serve yourself bars. But unlike the VS Clubhouse there's no hairdressing, no waiter service and no cocktail bar.

So a sale it is! (now...)

Ha, it's like they read my post!

And you have to ask, yes ASK, for champagne as they don't leave it out as part of the self-service bar. :0

Just bagged decent priced tickets to JNB in Jan 14 for my friend who will be joining me. Econ/PE prices on that route seem reasonable at the moment :)

Yes, that caught me out a few weeks back. I had no idea, so was forced, FORCED I TELL YOU, to have to resort to the Chablis and Sancerre that was actually on display. The horror :0 :w

Not sure if its ok to ask as part of this thread(ISTBK) but
Sales aside is there actually a particular time that is best to book ? In terms of prices? ie. set amount of weeks before desired flight?

Hi all,

Sorry in advance for the poorly worded request below,

Advice re booking flights on VS.

I thought I'd give it a whirl to see what the prices would be for LHR-NYC (any)20/3/14 then - NYC-MCO 24/3/14 - MCO-LGW on -14/4/14.

OR same routes, 14 July - 18 July - LHR-NYC, 18/4/14 NYC -MCO, MCO - London 3/4 August 2014
I cannot find out how to get the multi city option with VA. I've tried every way. Has anyone advice on how to do it? I thought VA hooking up with Delta would have given options.

Would prefer PE but with have enough miles for UC, or M+M or cash plus upgrade from econ with Virgin PE uprgrade voucher or miles. Sorry this is so confusing.

The annoying part is, that I can do it easily on the BA site, with all the connections and pricing options. I just wanted to compare all the options/prices between the two. Especially as I do not like WT+ compared to PE.

If anyone has the time or inclination to explain or find prices it would be much appreciated.

The VS site will only give you the option for a single open-jaw ticket (using the 'more options' link just under the destinations boxes).

I'd try expedia as that allows you to put in more cities.

But if your looking for upgradable fares and using the upgrade vouchers then I think it's a case of phoning VS

As the VS site is so archaic, you'll need to telephone to book this.

However what I'd do is book a "multicity" itinery on the website LHR-NYC/MCO-LGW. Then book the internal flight from NYC-MCO separately with any of the many operators out there. I'd recommend JetBlue.

Karen, looking at doing this myself but also returning from JFK.

If you use JFK for your arrival and departure airport, you can use Delta flying business for around $500 return which I "believe" also gives you miles and more importantly 6 tier points

If you can bag a sale price flight in upper to JFK for around £1550 + a business class fare on delta JFK-MCO-JFK at around £330 and can put up with a little inconvenience you'll get Upper/Business to MCO via JFK for around £1900 but with 16 tier points.

Is that 6tp for delta correct ? If so that's very good and something to consider for me , I feel a trip to Orlando coming on !

Yup, according to the flying club section.

Cabin Under 3,000 miles flown Over 3,000 miles flown
Economy Class 1 2
Business Class/First Class 3 5

For each one way flight ( apologises for incorrect rendering)

Sounds too good to be true :0

Thanks everyone,

I thought it was just me missing something on the site. BA make it so easy, why don'y VA copy. That's all types of quotes including multi city, M+M reward flights.

Really? I'm seeing plenty of Z fares for Boston next month. Eg out on the 22nd back on the 29th £2617 (which, granted, isn't particularly cheap).

Maybe the Z fares have sold out on the dates you want. Once they're gone they're gone.

It's first 2 weeks for me. The cheaper fares seem to be on Delta

Ok well I'm seeing £2600 Z fares for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 6th out and the 6th-9th and 12th back. They're definitely available - clearly the other dates are busier and the Zs have all gone.

Thanks. I'll have a look at those dates.
