The A zone is the part of the Upper cabin that is in the nose section. The B zone is the upper cabin behind that.

We are on a 747 next month and have booked the nose (lower deck) as advised by those on here with infinite knowledge. I think upstairs is the snooze zone and downstairs there are two zones. But I'm afraid other than preferring the nose I have no idea what they are referred to!

On our flight home on Monday, I was stood at the galley between the A and B zone waiting to change before sleeping and a lady came to wait behind me from the B zone and asked me what cabin it was in the A zone. I told her it was just more UC and she commented how much nicer it looked and how she wished she was sat in there instead.

So basically as mentioned so many times on here, the A zone is without question the place to be on a 747.

Thanks for the replies people, however i'm a little confused by yours Neil, easily done i should say. I thought UC on the 747 only consisted of 1 cabin with 14 seats and the Galley separated UC from PE,or have i got this completely wrong. ?| ?|

Ah okay, so on the LHR 747's the UC cabin is much larger, A and B zones and the front part of the upper deck, on the LGW/MAN 747's it as you say, only the A zone.
