Following an action packed two days in Queenstown it was soon time to leave, we returned the Hertz rental car at 1230 crossed the parking lot into departures nipping into the rest rooms to change from our paragliding gear into our comfy flying gear and were checked in by 1245.

ZQN is a small international airport and the food court consists of a central seating area with a self service Cafe and a bar so Chicken Pies and red wine it was.
The flight was scheduled for 1415 so no rush. We made our way to the designated gate through the necessary security at 1345, interesting fact on NZ domestic flights there is no restriction on liquids in hand luggage we carried on four bottles of wine from a local Vineyard on Lake Hayes (which is on the way back from Arrowtown).

Boarding commenced via both Fore and Aft doors again starting with the middle rows first, we were loaded and ready to go on time, however due to being on last row 5 virtually all the overhead space had been taken again so the wine had to go under the seat in front of Mrs H (luckily she is short) and we managed to squeeze my bag in the overhead bins.

Again no IFE or complimentary snacks but for less than two hours who really needs them.

Take off and landing were both on time and the views of Lake Wakatipu were stunning.
Upon landing Mrs H stayed to collect our checked bag and I went off to collect our next Hertz Rental (side note, it appears that Hertz are no longer a shopping partner through the VS shopping site so no extra miles there anymore) in the short time it took for me to collect our rental Mrs H was already standing outside waiting for me. Total of fifteen minutes from landing to being on the road.

Another great flight with Jetstar on a nice comfy A320 for a total of $350 NZD return for two with checked baggage, winner.

I have this wonderful vision of you Paragliding into the Airport and then James Bond style brushing yourself off and walking up to the check in desk with all the other passengers in the terminal just staring! ^)

Haha that would be great, however the real thing was not quite as glamorous I'm afraid.
