Hi my first post.
I've booked a special birthday treat for my partner of PE seats for our trip to New York. I was wondering for any advice in PE, such as the best seats.

Any advice would be helpful. I'm hoping to score all the browning points I can :D also booked the guest list for us both

Welcome!

What a lovely treat. Do you know the flight number?

Welcome to vflyer , as marshy11 says we would need the flight no to work out what plane type you might be on.

Hmm, those flights are operated by a mixture of aircraft so you'll need to check the seat map via Manage My Booking (assuming it's less than 90 days till you fly) to find out which type you've got.

Based on the past month, two thirds of the flights have been operated by new Airbus A330-300s which all have the latest touch screen entertainment systems. The front row of PE, while giving a bit of extra legroom due to the bulkhead, is also near the loos and the galley which many don't particularly like. Otherwise, all the PE seats are much of a muchness. They're in a 2-3-2 formation so if there are two of you travelling try and get the A/C or H/K seats, not D/E/F in the middle.

If you get the older Airbus A340-300, only one of the planes has a half-decent entertainment system, the rest have something from the 1980s so bring your own tablet! Seat-wise, there are only five rows of PE and there aren't any particularly bad seats. Again it's 2-3-2 and the front row is mercifully free from loos and galleys, and has a bit more leg room as it's a bulkhead row.

Once you know what type of plane you're on, have a look at seatguru.com, seatexpert.com or in the Toolbox right here on V-Flyer for comprehensive seat maps and reviews - just remember one person's idea of a great seat may not be another's, it depends what your personal criteria are.

Thanks for the reply gumshoe.

It looks like we are on the A330-300s. We are off in December so I have gone for H/K seats both ways.

The clubhouse's (heathrow/JFK) look awesome.

Thanks for the help
