Well it seems that my trip has caught up with me, I managed to stay awake until 1900 ][|) last night but now I have been wide awake since 0200.

I tried going out for a walk on Wimbledon Common and am now sat at home with a large glass of Blanton's Bourbon hoping that I can get a couple more hours sleep soon.

I feel your pain but at least you could take a walk. Is it today you're going to Swindon?

Oh man
Yeah seems like madmoiselle jet lag is wanting to spend some time with you
If you can go to sleep a couple of hours later tonight it might help

Poor you, I totally understand how miserable it is and have tried most jet lag "cures" over the years, staying awake for 24 hours, diets pre and post flight, pills, light therapy and it still hits me for six, both directions! Annoyingly, my husband never has any problems and steps off the plane as if he has just taken the Central Line to work. v(
We are booked with EK this year and for the first time the flights get in at the end of the day, so my plan is to stay awake on the plane in the hope that I am tired enough to sleep on arrival. That said if Madame Jetlag is in an exceptionally vindictive mood she plays tricks and lets you off the first night then attacks you with full force the next! :0
Hope you are back on track very soon and if you are anything like me you will soon be planning your next trip! y)

I stayed up until about 0450 then managed to sleep until 0730, I feel much better for the extra couple of hours though.

Yeah I have to be at Paddington to get the 1203 to collect my dog from my parents house.

Thanks, the extra couple of hours I snatched this morning have helped. En Route to Paddington now. Mrs H who came back from NZ via LAX (sat next to a certain Blonde haired 80's rocker) is fine so maybe next time I'll keep goin east the whole way.
Next trip is already booked Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas in February/March.

I hope you feel okay – I suffered it pretty badly on my way over to Sydney. Completely weirdly I recommend Pizza!! ( normally hate it but for jet lag it seems to solve all the problems!!)
Feel better soon!

I have never had a problem with jet lag after arriving in OZ. My flights arrive in the early morning and I keep going all day and then crash out at the usual time OZ bedtime, with the help of a couple of Sainsbury's Sleepeaze pills. y)

I always have some trouble after the return but last time, in June, less so. On that journey, in Y, I actually had my best sleep on a plane, that being helped no doubt by the consumption of some pre-boarding fizz and a rather fine red!! Whatever, after a couple of days I was "right as rain" and not falling asleep at random and invariably inopportune moments. ii)

A quick update,

A week after landing and I feel like I'm finally getting back to normal sleeping from 2200 until around 0700, the down side is that I have to go into work tonight for one night only just to mess things up again.
