I have been checking daily for flights next august man to mco. there are some reward PE flights on the way out on the 12th but I can't find any for the way home on or around the 30th from anywhere in the us back to manchester.

when do they upload the reward flights?
am I going to get a return?

should I wait and pay for the flight and then try to upgrade with miles?

or will it be cheaper flying indirect with a air someone else?

I have 200k in miles now and a budget!

There really is no system as to when they release reward seats so it is just a matter of checking on a daily basis.

Your return date flights haven't been released for very long so it's not unusual for them to not release any straight away. MCO in August is obviously very popular so they could wait and see how well they sell before releasing some rewards seats.

Only you can decide if you want to wait or look elsewhere, that has to be your decision based on your needs and circumstances.

Hi, I'm looking to use miles to upgrade next March, how do yo tell if there are reward seats available for your flights? I understand that you need to book minimum M class for upgrading econ to PE & S for PE to UC, but does there need to be a booking class available for the cabin you wish to upgrade to?

Yes, there has to be reward seat availability in the cabin you're upgrading to.

It's easy to check - just log into your FC account and do a dummy booking on the VS website, selecting "spend your miles" instead of "money". Choose your required dates and cabin and it'll tell you if reward seats are available or, if not, it'll bring up a calendar showing when they are.

Ignore the price in miles it shows though, as that's for a full reward seat rather than an upgraded one - but they come out of the same bucket so if it shows availability get on the phone and snap them up!

All I can add is keep checking.

I had been looking for 2 outbound in UC to SFO next June for about 3 weeks, checking first thing every morning and later in the day. Lo and behold 2 popped up overnight, and I was on the phone at 6.10am and got them. First clubhouse experience coming up, only 8 months to wait.

I think the contact centre can hold a fare for 24 hours

"it'll tell you if reward seats are available or, if not, it'll bring up a calendar showing when they are"

How do you get this calendar? It seems like I just have to keep putting dates in and every time it says "Your choice of reward seat is not available, please search again and think about alternative dates"

The calendar will always be shown on our site, http://www.rewardseats.com, hope you find it useful.

|:) Thanks for this, is there a way of showing the availability for 2 passengers? scared to book 1 and then not have another one available.

I'm afraid there is not at present, we'll add it in a later release. Maybe for now it can help you find where there is at least one seat and then search those dates on the Virgin site.

If you don't see the calendar then it's safe to assume that seats are not available on or around your date, it quite often offers me seats via the calendar for more than a month away from my original requested dates.

Keep checking though, you never know when they might come up

what do you think?

I have jiggled a bit and i am now looking at LBA to gatwick
gatwick to mco
jfk to heathrow then back to lba
I have found flights from london to mco and jfk to london in pe for 4 of us for just under £1500 with 190k in flying miles.

I will have to book a flight in the middle and I am thinking of flying upto buffalo so I can go and see niagra then driving back to new york for a couple of days before flying home.
and i will have to pay for the lba to london return bit it seemed not bad.

I dont suppose I can do it much cheaper

Not sure but don't think there is a flight from lba to gatwick anymore. BA stopped flying last year unless they have started again

An hour connection at LHR? Not a risk I'd be prepared to take. You have to clear immigration, go through security and catch a bus from T3 to T1 remember.

Honestly, I think you're worrying far too early. There are still almost 11 months until your return flight and there's a good chance you'll be able to bag PE reward seats for MCO-MAN between now and then, as long as you keep checking daily.

If there are reward seats outbound, grab those if you haven't already then just sit tight and wait. If in 6-8 months time there's still nothing, you can explore other options. But for now, chill!

thanks, but i am both excited and worried. I know that the mco man flights will book up during the summer holidays. I do not expect any flights to be released.

I have enough points to fly pe, I know wasted on the kids but it might be our last transatlantic trip for a while and I thought it would be nice to do it in style. and since we might not be going back for a year or two I thought i would do a bit of adventure travelling!!! I would have done the grand canyon from vegas but since i can fly from new york i want to visit niagra falls.

just need to make sure i am not trying to do to much, and expect the family to just manage!!
