Any advice

We have never cruised before and are quite young to be considering it I guess (22/27) but really would like to do something a bit special for honeymoon.

We are thinking about just the 7 day Alaska cruise and then 2/3 nights in Vancouver. It would be late May/Early June which I understand to be an okay time.

Did you stop at places like Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Did you do any activites in these places?

I also love the look of some of the national parks, however it seems you have to get a coach or train to some of these. Did you do any or would recommend any.

Our budget is around £3000/3500 - is this too little for this cruise?

Hi Anna. I have yet to do an Alaska cruise, but after seeing photos from a friends recent trip that included a land tour in Vancouver and the Mt McKinley area, it is high up on my list of priorities.

First of all, have a look at http://www.cruisecritic.com which is a great website for finding out about all things cruise related. It will give you an idea of the best cruise line for your choice of style. There are many to choose from. Some have more emphasis on the young and active. Some are more subdued. Others lean toward casual "freestyle" eat when you want dining. Others are more formal and have set dining times. So I would say have a good look around the site, including the forum there as it has bags of information. Doing a bit of research will help you choose and is fun aswell. Personally I don't think you are too young. I started when I was 37 and wish I'd done it sooner.

As far as your budget, that too depends on the cruise line and ship you choose, but I would say that is a pretty good figure and you would probably get a balcony cabin on say a ship like Celebrity's Mercury within that, including air fare. I've cruised Celebrity a number of times and have really enjoyed the experience.

Finally, here is a link to my friends photos, just to whet the appetite further:

I hope that helps, but if you want to ask me anything specific, feel free to PM me.

For that type of money you will have a great cruise on the Coral Princess and Island Princess for May June you are looking at $1,829 for a balcony room and $1,949 mini suite.

im going to PM you with a little link that will help alot.

Hi Jetwet - would you be kind enough to PM me with a link too? We are planning an Alaska cruise at the exact same time as anna68!

Many thanks!
