Got to the airport fairly early because my loving husband was too eager to drop me off at the airport and get to work. So I was practically shoved out of the car at Murtala Muhammed Airport with my 3 suitcases sometime before 8AM and went off to check in.
I have become a familiar face at the VS desk. Check in was an absolute breeze and the extra time I spent was chatting with my friends at the Virgin desk.
I had been warned that the Oasis Lounge had been cut in half because of renovation but I wasn't quite ready for what I saw when I got there. The lounge was barely adequate in its full size but now, it was more like a slightly comfortable waiting room. Service was non existent as I got tired of waiting and eventually got up to order a drink from the bar.
Boarding was called at 9:30 but we were kept in the waiting area for a bit and boarding started with the usual priority and was unusually quick and efficient for a Nigerian flight. (I later found that a charter flight crashed shortly after taking off around 9:30 and airspace was about to be shut down).
The flight was full in UC and PE but fairly light in Y so as soon as ee reached cruising altitude AUs were given the opportunity to move to the empty rows so I moved from 32F where I was sandwiched between 2 people to 32A with 2 seats to myself.
Cabin crew were efficient and friendly. I can't complain about the food portions as I'm used to the little packs now.
