Hi Guys

We usually stay at grand vacation type places when staying in Orlando so needless to say there is no valet parking at these places. This year we decided to book at the Waldorf Orlando as it gets great reviews and looks very nice indeed, what would the going rate for valet to park our car 2/3 times a day??

Dont want to insult the guy with a dollar but equally dont want to be forking out over the odds for what is a hotel imposed tax, as self parking is not an option.

Any thoughts.

regards

For valet I usually tip $2 to the person taking it and the same to person bringing it back. If they are exceptionally helpful in some way then maybe $5.

Waldorf Astoria in Orlando is a top Hotel by the way. Among other things, an excellent pool bar! Enjoy.

There is a self park facility next door to the Hotel as well.

I always remember someone telling me that in the US if you weren't sure what to tip, then tip 15%

When there wasn't any 'value' to measure against, 15% of nothing was 2 dollars.

(other guidelines were along the lines of a dollar a bag for Bell hops, leave the odd change from ordering at a bar, but never, ever leave just 2 cents which will be taken as an insult)

I stayed there for 8 nights last year and without doubt best hotel I've stayed at in Orlando. (and done some of the best there... Grand FL, All Universal, RitzCarlton, Peabody etc.,) Only negative is that it is quite expensive to eat and drink there. Golf course is excellent, just make sure bring plenty of spare balls!!!!
