Hello, some advice re UC cabin please. We have managed to request 9-10k as these were the last two seats available in MMB. Travelling as a couple would any of the other seats further forward be better? If we end up with 9-10k is it easy to communicate without getting up? Seen some pictures of the seats and wondered if any of the dividing sections between seats can be lowered to say Hi :) . Tried to avoid rows 11 and 12 as seem very close to the bar area, is this view correct? We are also using the clubhouse and wonder where you exit same to get to the gate, do you have to go downstairs and along the usual route? Are flights called in the clubhouse or just the usual screens to watch out for? Sorry if these are newbie questions but travelling UC is a one off for us and want it to go well. Thanks :D

Personally, I would go with 6A/K. These are nice seats for a couple - you can almost play footsie :X :X

The divider between seats is quite high (and cannot be moved) so not easy to converse over.

Enjoy :D :D

I concur with MrsBear - 6A/K are best for a couple as they're very close. Failing that 7A/K. Any further back and the cabin's too wide for a conversation between the A & K seats.

Two seats next to each other is ok but whoever's in front will be craning their neck due to the angle of the seats. It's fair to say VS designed their UC suites for single business people who want privacy, not couples who want to chat.

Re the Clubhouse - not been in the LGW one for a while but pretty sure there are first and second calls for boarding. There's only one entrance & exit so yes, you have to walk the normal route to the gate. Be sure to use the priority lane when you arrive at the gate though, if there's a queue.

MrsBear99 and gumshoe have answered most of your queries but just to say there are really no bad seats in Upper on the Gatwick fleet, especially since the refits with the new IFE.

Even rows 10, 11 and 12 which are near the bar because after many , many flights on these planes, I have never seen the bar get rowdy or anybody sitting there create a disturbance.

Just remember if you get these seats, don't go for an A and K seat as they are very far apart. Go for either 2 A's or 2 K's and remember, if you want a chat with your neighbour, all upper seats have the small companion seat where you can chat together or eat together and of course, there's always the bar for a blether.

You will get told in the Clubhouse to go to the front of the queue when arriving at the gate. Priority boarding onto the actual plane though is a totally different conversation :D - have a search for that thread. ):

Enjoy your Upper experience y)

Thanks everyone for the very helpful and friendly replies. Really looking forward to the flight out, return in PE, and also having somewhere to get away from the hustle and noise in the departures area. :) y)
