Whilst I was not planning on writing a TR for this LR hop, I did need something to do to distract me from the crying child a few rows behind us.

The flight was posted as showing a slightly tardy departure due to a late inbound from LHR, but boarding was only delayed by about 20minutes.

Whilst I boarded through the priority lane the BP scanner was broken and I was publicly shamed with a loud SEQ 22 yelled across the boarding lane - yep I was lax with OLCI, sorry v-flyers. :# :#

I thought this a little strange but on snaking passed saw my name ticked off a list... Wow, I was on a list... Felt more important now :| Greeted at the door and shown to seat 3F and yep I have a row mate again in 3D - good thing is that row 2 appears to be being kept clear so my legs may very well be safe. ^)

Just before the doors were shut a manager appeared and confirmed mine, my seat mate's and someone near the back's name... Only thing I and my row mate could figure is that it was a check of those that used the priority lane as we were the first 3 on board.... Other thoughts, my seat mate and I were both AU - not sure why that would lead to names confirmed by ground staff on the plane though. Neither of us were transfer pax, again not sure on the confirmation of this.. Any other guesses?

Doors closed and with the pilot's welcome, the CC safety briefing and an infant crying bloody murder we taxied to take off - running about a half hour late but no real harm done for me.

As soon as we were at altitude a couple of people moved into row 2... Well i was ready for battle and with a glance to my row mate, so was he ): . Here was the shock.. Whilst they tried, the seats didn't recline. Do VS restrict row 2? 3F reclined :P

They gave up and one of them moved to the other side of the plane to stretch out and take photos of herself :$ Meh, good for pax that loads are light to allow people a bit of space - not as good for VS though. Tray table down for drinks and the casualties of a food fight fell onto my lap n( With the crisps/breadcrumbs swept onto the floor, I enjoyed a very welcome glass of lemonade with some crisps of my own to throw about the cabin.

The rest of the flight passed quickly and pretty uneventfully with a very professional and efficient presence from the crew.

Love hearts distributed and we begun the descent into Heathrow with the wonder twins in row 2 bouncing around to some imaginary beat (or their ADD medication :P).

My sympathies to the mother with the upset child.... She was trying her best, but sometimes there is no way to appease the cries of despair and unhappiness at a child not used to flying.

Yet another good LR flight y)

Thanks for sharing joey.....I'm pretty sure the confirmation of names will have been to do with your AU status.... :D

Despite the young one on board....a good confident flight and I'm not so sure I read this right......lemonade!!!!! ):

Hope to see you onboard again soon.

That wasn't you in 3D was it? If not he was also a FF that does it every week.

Lemonade as I had to drive at the other end I'm afraid, not sure on the name confirmation.. it was literally just a question of 'Is it Mr C?'.. Odd.

Now, there is a good theory Blacky y)

The position from where I was seated allowed for views either down the plane, at the more than entertaining and engaging crew, or out of the window to watch the world literally fly on by... Coupling those with extensive people watching, especially of the cabbage patch kids on a sugar high in front of me, and I was set for the whole flight. The most complex IFE is around us |:)

Not quite 5 stars as the crew did not have sufficient time to perform any kabuki theatre, broadway skit or highland jig. Perhaps next time ;)
