A return to LHR after a conference in Baltimore.
We arrived at IAD in plenty of time and was pleased to see the check in staff making an effort for Halloween. Very pleasant staff all the way to the gate. There was a little excitement as someone tried to board the plane without a boarding pass just in front of me. Turned out to be a security test and the staff reacted very quickly - reassured that their primary aim is our security, great work.
I was a little disturbed by the attitude the gate staff had to Premium Econ passengers waiting patiently in line. They ferried the Upper Class through the line but it took for ages to board them because there were a lot of stragglers.

The flight was great. Excellent service from the time we boarded to the time we landed. Good to see some of the same cabin crew as the outbound flight which made it even more pleasant.

The cabin was clean and in good condition, may have been a new plane. The food was excellent although a little rushed. I do find the PE seats a little uncomfortable for sleeping so didnt really get a lot of sleep but it was only a 6:30 hr flight so no real problems.

I know what you are saying about sleeping, but I still think that if paying out of your own pocket, PE is perfect for an East coast flight. UC is great but unless a sale fare or using miles it's very expensive for just a very few hours of a flat bed.

Thanks for the TR , you were on an a330 which are a newish plane and I for one like the PE cabin on them
