VS can take mileage from more than one account in upgrade/reward seat denominations.... what are we talking about here in terms of totals from you and your partner?

I have just booked bagged 2 Gs and they will take from 2 accounts but would only take in 50,000 increments for upper , not sure for lower classes. I had to buy 9000 as my wife had 108,000 and I had 92,000.

VS would not allow taking the totals like that

My understanding of the system has always been that EACH LEG has got to be from one account, but there is not problem using different accounts for each flight.

For example for two return flights each requiring 100k points. 50K can come from one account and 150K from the other.

You can sell points to another person, but the fees involved make it cost prohibitive IMHO.

Jurgen,

Could your wife not have transferred the 8,000 miles to your account as this would have been slightly cheaper than buying some. I am going to have to do the same thing as I have 121,000 and hubby only has 83,000. It would cost us/him £270 to buy but a lesser £142.50 to transfer. i) linda

Earlier in the year I booked my Parents an S fare each LHR-YVR-LHR they each had enough miles to upgrade to a G one way 12500 and the rest came from my account.
I have also used miles from both my wife's account and mine to book reward flights for each of us, returns, one ways and upgrades.
So as far as I'm aware you can use miles from separate accounts as long as each flight sector comes from one account you are OK.
