Hi all,

Me and the better half are booked onto VS01 for our first ever upper class trip (thanks to v-flyers for all the tips). However, we fly in April so unforunately our departure time has changed to 09.45 which severely limits our chance to fully enjoy the clubhouse experience :0 . I will call VS to see if I have any options but thought I'd ask here. Can reward flights be changed? assuming there is availability on another flight. Looking at the times now, we would like to get on VS09,17 or 25. We will be staying at EWR(or JFK should we get a change)the first night so early arrival isn't really an issue, Clubhouse time would be much more appreciated during the afternoon i feel ;) .

Either way, we will be able to guest someone into the clubhouse on the 10/4/14...just not sure what flight we'll be on yet.

Thanks for any help and for all tips and info I've picked up lurking on here over the years.

Yes, reward flights can be changed for a £25 fee, assuming it's a straight reward and not a reward upgrade from a paid for economy or PE ticket, in which case you're bound by the restrictions governing the original fare class.

However given the substantial change in departure time, I would be minded to call the UC line and ask if they'll do it for free, on the grounds that the revised time is inconvenient. They don't have to, as they've given more than 14 days notice, but it's worth a shot.

The new VS1 timetable isn't welcome IMHO. The old 4pm departure allowed for a leisurely start, a nice lunch in the Clubhouse and a flight that arrived in time for drinks & dinner in NYC, all without the hassle of JFK immigration.

Thanks, I will call them this evening although the VS website is not showing any availability for the 10th April to either NY area airport so we shall see.

thanks again

An update.....Just spoke with a very helpful guy on the upper class team. There was no availality to New York on the 10th, we could have gone on VS9 on the 9th but opted for VS11 on the 10th. We are heading to upstate NY anyway so this is a perfect alternative for us. Fee was waived also as it was a time shift of more than 5 hours y)

Does anyone have any experience of immigration at Boston? I have never flown into BOS only out of it....

Thanks for the advice

Went through Boston on Saturday, VS11.
Immigration was totally empty, I was fourth in the room! As passengers from my flight started to make their way another flight entered from another door, but we beat them to the front!
No guarantee of course but it was very easy. Out of interest the same thing happened at Heathrow on Monday, could be down to pure luck?
