VS11/VS12 schedule changes

Hi,
I have received an email from Virgin informing me of the changes to the schedule next year (I think the changes are for the worst) n(
But doing a search I see the Wednesday and Thursday flights are now operated by A340-300 (in July and August) in lieu of the dreaded and utterly rubbish A330-300 (I know many of you have commented good and bad on the upper class "improvements").
But my question is, why would Virgin change the plane type 2days a week, and what are the chances that this is a mistake and the flight will be operated by a A330-300?

I was on the VS11 on Saturday VS12 return on Monday . First time on "the dreaded and utterly rubbish" A330 three class!
Like you I have read so many negative comments on the new Upper Class suite, however despite a few reservations it was not bad at all! Sure the cabin looks a bit cramped but once you are wedged into your seat I found it rather cosy.
Over the last couple of years I have experienced, now, every layout and aircraft type. My favourite would most certainly be the nose of a 747 UC but the new A330's ain't that bad!

And there is the problem with the 330!

I take VS11 & 12 regularly UC or PE and have done so for the last 4 years so have got use to the 747 or 340-600 in the summer months and the 340-300 in the winter. When the change to the 330 happened I expected a improved UC only to find the Dream Suite a poorly thought out and designed product!

I now prefer PE on this plane.

I for one will be happy when/if they put a quad back on even with the old old IFE.

Completely agree. Having avoided the A330 for a while due to route / flight number planning I was on it twice last week and all those flaws were reinforced. I did have superb crews though and it is worth reminding that the IFE is very good.
