I probably will be waving in the general direction of the UK after my next glass of Johnnie Walker :P

I have had an excellent stay in NYC, drinks were definitely consumed in honour of all V-Flyers that requested as such.. and then some ):

The weather has been crazy.. warm and sunny in December!! - we actually had dinner outside the other evening!! Today is wet but still very warm, traffic a nightmare coming from Manhattan, but the driver was banterful and enjoyed my singing along to the radio - yes I may have had a liquid lunch in the city ii)

Now I'm firmly ensconced in the JFK CH enjoying the Xmas music and the whisky supply. We will be on the VS46 tonight and I have bagged 19K, fingers crossed for a great service flight to round off the trip quite nicely.

As it is Xmas there is the possibility that I won't be sleeping but enjoying UC to the full.... will judge on whether I stagger or stroll down the CH stairs to the plane later on ii)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hey Joey,

I was on the BA 176 last night from JFK and if you have the same tail winds (200mph!) you will have a very quick flight - we did it in 5.40 (plus a few mins atc on approach), so no point in sleeping!

We know that Joey won't feel all those bumps from the super tailwinds, he'll be comatosed and will only wake up on landing ):

Have a great flight ^) ^)

Ha, comatose... me?? Never ;) Would miss too much of the crew banter.

Enjoying a Woodford Reserve in Dom's honour at the moment. Any other drink suggestions? ):

Was a fair flight, cheers all. I did manage a couple hours sleep but with a 5hr40min flight time there was not time for much.

It was needed though as I had to head on out after getting home to retrieve the last bits and pieces for the family feast on Xmas day... turns out we had a full house of far flung relatives that I was only told about whilst stateside. My folks can be forgetful at times :P

Good to see that the revivals refit has finished.. a shame that the tristar rep is now stuck downstairs in the arrivals hall though.. means having to go through all the details twice over as the lounge staff have to phone downstairs to confirm things n(

Sure thing MissG, Where you flying in to? and where are you staying? and actually when are you going? I will be heading back to the city, myself, towards the end of Jan.

Wow 5.40 that's a quick flight back.
19K great for getting off the plane quickly too, I love the space in the A zone, my buddy and I have 18/19A to SFO in Feb.
Great to have you back Joey and thank for the Woodford in the JFK CH ):

We're going on Jan 18th, for our honeymoon. I've booked us into an apartment for 10 days, and we're spending another 4 in a nice hotel, which I have not booked us into - this is where I need the most help!

Sorry for the late reply on this one Miss G.

The hotel I would recommend is The London over on W54th and 7th. The rooms are a fantastic size (pretty much all suites) and the staff are incredible. Always friendly and looking to help out. Let them know it is your honeymoon stay and see what they can come up with to make it extra special for you guys.

My congratulations on your wedding and I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon in NYC ^) ^) ^)

I haven't stayed in the Towers but the Palace is a nice hotel in a good location and I would certainly recommend it. My main criticism of the room I stayed in was the old-fashioned chintzy decor, which is distressingly common in big US hotels, but the Towers looks completely different in that respect.

It's right next to a well-regarded restaurant, Maloney & Porcelli, on 50th.

Phew! I once booked the wrong hotel in Germany and haven't lived it down, so this is good to know!

We shall take a look at the restaurant, starting to get excited now, five more sleeps! :o)
