OK some good news from me.
As some of you may know from my TR's I flew from SYD-LHR and I upgraded to UC HKG-LHR with cash at SYD on Sept 20th. I arrived into LHR early on Sat 21st Sept where I was able to check V-Flyer and register for the offer I logged into my FC account to check the balance and noticed that I had indeed received two bonus tier points for a sector I had flown before even registering y)

My account is now registering

48 TP's and 436K miles,
just need some G's to come out and play now ):

@HULL - wow RESULT!!! VAs IT system is working well currently hey! and nice for you. Yeah I reckon you need some Gs lol

Does anyone know if you can still qualify for a free LR flight if you only take one sector in Z? one reading it, I got the impression that you had to fly 2 sectors to be entitled to it? but then later in the T&Cs it said that the LR reward flights are rewarded after the first and second sector flown.

On my understanding of it you get 1 LR return flight for every 2 revenue UC sectors flown (2 rewards max). So in your example, no :P but you will be halfway there...

clarkeysntfc wrote:Is the Little Red flight 100% free or do you have to pay for the taxes/surcharges as if it was a reward?

From the T&Cs :

16. Standard Little Red reward taxes, charges and surcharges of £34 will not be applied. Other taxes and charges may apply. Little Red Reward Flights are booked into the Little Red inventory reward class and are subject to availability.

Thanks joey. I was half suspecting that. ?| but was hoping an angel would give me a different answer lol

From the T&Cs I read it that you would get a LR flight in the situation you describe.

see!! its not just me lol the says 2 flights. Therefore surely in order to get 2 you need to have done 2 sectors but does that mean you could still only get 1 flight because you only took 1 sector?

what do you reckon people and joey? lol

What I think eh... :?

3. One return flight on the Virgin Atlantic Little Red service (a "Little Red Reward Flight") will be awarded to a Qualifying Member on completion of each of the first and second Qualifying Flights.

From the T&Cs, with the bolding done here, it implies that on the completion of 2 qualifying sectors you will get 1 return flight on LR or that you must fly 2 sectors in the qualifying class to receive the 2 flight reward (no middle ground with a single reward earned) :P

Don't panic people, I'm just being facetious given the Monday I have had thus far.

You guys are probably right and I am wrong. :#

Onto your question gfonk it does not state if one is a prerequisite to the other. Although, I am sure common sense will prevail and tell you that Joey read this in a hurry this morning and more than likely misread the T&Cs/was distracted by fighting a dragon/was brainwashed by aliens (delete as appropriate) and then spent his lunchtime going through the email with a fine tooth comb figuring out all the different ways this could be interpreted - my favourite outcome was where I ended up with 4 return flights with LR as opposed to the stated 2 ;)

Sorry for confusing you G, what MedwayControl pointed out looks correct. y)

Thanks Joey
Wow sounds like your Monday is going well then :-P
hope the rest of the week improves hey.
Back OT, I guess the proof of the pudding will be in what happens upon my return. I would obviously really like 1 return on LR as have never flown LR and would like to go to Edinburgh.
Lets see hey.

I did speak with a wonderful female agent (HH) earlier in the week about changing an existing booking and she told me that I had earned a LR reward flight through the promotion (I have only flown one sector in UC during the promotion) but she was unable to advise me if it was just a one way or return flight as this was not stated anywhere.

Does anyone know if the promo was only for flights booked between 20 September and 20 October? I never got the email and the link seems to be dead now.

Officially, yes. Unofficially, it seemed to just require registering (via the link from the email) during the stated time period and pre-existing bookings would then also qualify. I certainly got the bonus points for a booking made prior to 20 Sept...

Hi all,

I registered for this offer after I had made my booking and sure enough I got the free flights and extra miles.

On Saturday I phoned the flying club and was able to redeem the flights for Monday. My son had never been on a plane and so decided to take him on a day return to Heathrow from Manchester. The flight was a bit bumpy but a good experience for him and the cabin crew were excellent!

The person from the flying club was very helpful even though she had no knowledge of the offer and had not redeemed the flights before. After a few minutes on hold I was given the usual 6 digit booking reference and best of all they were free, no taxes, no charges, 100% free!

The free flight is a return flight and you get one per sector flown in UC for the offer dates. I did a return to LAS in December and got the two returns.

Hope this helps!
Chris

The flying club agent did say I could gift the flights if I wanted and I'm almost sure she said that they were valid for twelve months from being added to the account. I would advise double checking that as I was only interested in redeeming them as soon as possible.

Hi. I can confirm you can book the flights in any name. And yes they are valid for 12 months from being added to the account.

I booked a return flight for my sister. As these tickets don't involve taking any funds, they need to be manually processed by ticketing. We had to cancel the flights as my sister received a hospital appointment through the post the following day for when she was meant to be on her trip. Managed to cancel as e-ticket not yet issued and free flights back on my account. Thanks for the help VS :D
