Hi all,

I'm booking 7 days in Vegas for April this year.

This will be the first time we have been although we used to visit Orlando twice yearly until a few years ago so have travelled to the US many times.

We will probably use a travel agent this time as they have offered a good price although we normally book flights direct with VA.

My question is, would anyone who has travelled the route (flight is VS85, 3rd April) pay for the seat upgrade, it's coming in at around £400pp for PE return.

But for £800 for both of us i'm wondering if the money is better spent elsewhere.
We normally upgrade but the Vegas route is much more expensive than our usual MCO prices.

Also does this route have the AeroMobile service onboard for phone use.

Thanks, Barry

All manchester/gatwick based aircraft now have aero mobile fitted. This will however be unavailable when in US airspace.

Only you can decide wether the money for the upgrade can be better spent or used to play on the strip.

Welcome,

As Chill710 states personal preference...is really the same as your previous MCO trips, if not just slightly longer and poss risk of no booze being dished out..

Ditto to what others have said - only you can decide whether it's worth it.

If it was £200pp I'd definitely say yes but £400 is a lot of money that could definitely be put to good use on the Strip!

Bear in mind economy on the Vegas route has a reputation for being quite lively - think lots of stag parties - and they do often seem to run out of booze. PE would be worth considering if you want a quiet flight.

But if that doesn't bother you and you just want a bit more space, you can buy exit row or extra legroom economy seats or use "Seat Plus" where you buy an empty seat next to you, all for less than a PE upgrade.

£400pp for the return is good. That's £200 to upgrade one way pp. (Istbc)
I know I would rather the PE seats and space to the Y offering. Vegas isn't a short flight (not for me anyway)!
But if you can think of a better way to spend £800 then do what you think will make you happier...room upgrade, blow it on the slots, trip outside Vegas, shopping?
For me the flight is a big part of the holiday!

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I'm not a big gambler or drinker so i think i'll go for the upgrade as it's a major part of the holiday for me.

It's quite a long flight so i would sooner be a little more comfortable on the journey.

Appreciate you time and replies.

Thanks :)

heya,

I have recently flown the vegas route from LGW in December and must say having travelled MCO route alot and in PE only both ways I was a bit apprehensive when I was travelling in economy and did not have the option of an upgrade.

The flight was quite quiet on the outbound and no rowdiness but it probably depends on who you have on the flight which is the same with all locations.

The alcohol was served on the 7 hours of the 10 hour flight and the economy seats are quite large compared to how they used to be but not as roomy as PE.

I would say if it is coming in as that cheap take it definitely and have a fab time in Vegas , it was my first time in Vegas in December and loved every minute !!
