Have never flown with Virgin before however I know that when flying BA you can access the seat maps for your flights to view what seats are getting booked up making it easier to decide whether to pre-book or take a chance with online check in at 24hrs. Is the same option available with Virgin where you can view seats getting booked?

Hi

You could try doing a dummy booking with a site such as Expedia. I have known it to work on occasions but have!'t tried recently. I can't remember if I tried expedia.co.uk or.com. :?

Good luck!

I may be wrong but I interpret the OP's question as being related to seat booking (assignment) rather than ticket booking, as I doubt you'd leave booking your ticket until "online check in at 24hrs"....

As such VS's whole seat assignment request process is undergoing improvement (aka "in chaos") at the moment as you can read here.

You can get a good idea of flight loadings from http://www.expertflyer.com - It shows 'claimed' seats on any future flight. You may have to register but it is free. Use the 'create flight alerts' on the left to search.

Thanks for both replies still got a while until I can even think about checking in but find it handy to have information in advance.

PJH you are correct plane tickets and hotel all booked through VH. If we can see the bubble being booked up we would probably pay in advance if not we are willing to risk T-24. The main thing is getting two seats together as the thought of flying terrifies my girlfriend.
