Been a while since I frequented the site so hello again. Just looking at a couple of weeks in St Lucia with VH in December 2014 and when I looked at the upgrade to PE return the charge was over £3,700 for 2 adults and an infant! Either St Lucia has become even more popular or the change to Airbus metal n( has proved a bad move PE load wise for passengers through a reduction in seats in the cabin.

I have been to UVF several times with VS and have very rarely seen the PE cabin have many seats free on the 747's

As you have booked via VH, this is VH pricing, not VS, so they are dictating how much extra they are charging. VH usually have set upgrade prices, usually around £300pp one way, but they do only have a certain allocation and might be waiting for more from VS as they flights are only just starting to go on sale direct.

Does anybody else think the move to 333's was a bad decision?

The benefit for VS of moving to the A333's is the vast increase in the J cabin, gaining an extra 19 J seats.

Okay, it means they lose 22W seats, but the demand for J to the Caribbean is high, so it makes sense to the airline.

After many happy 747 trips in PE to the Caribbean we are shortly faced with our first trip on a 330. My instinct says that the move to 330s is good for VA, but not so good for us the umble Pax. On the other hand VS needs too make a profit to survive - the other option is unthinkable .. Our TR in a few weeks will reveal all - watch this space..
The pricing was similar to yours, so we took the UC on the outward, slumming in PE on the return. Odd that this was not offered on the web, but not a problem on a landline and a good compromise, though the pricing was much higher than PE both ways last trip.
