...and why is the white wine never quite cold enough? (chilling tends to make cr@p wine taste better, so I'm told...) :w

How interesting. I am far from a wine buff but the last few glasses of red I had a few weeks back in UC were almost frozen :0 How can the whites not be as cold. I don't drink white so do not have all the info....

Is the simple answer to the red wine/white wine and warm/cold conundrum to drink champagne…..

I know people will faint with horror at this, I don't like champagne :0 :0 :0 so no joy for me.
On the plus side, at least we are now probing some real serious issues with the wish list for 2014 :o) :o)

1) LHR-GIG and/or LGW-SSA (a great holiday alternative to CUN).
2) Show how VS really flies in the face of the (AA/DL)ordinary.
3) Use 333/avoid 343 on routes likely to attract novice VS pax.
4) Restrict DL elites' access to T3 Clubhouse to pax flying UC.
5) Highlight PE's hard and soft product superiority vs BA WT+.
6) Let VFC Golds upgrade for Miles from lower Y and W fares.
7) Fight for/buy the slots that make 1)-6) worth doing!

I'll also agree the Qantas pyjamas are excellent.

Not sure if Vera Touch has changed things, but one thing I loved on my recent Qantas A380 trip down under and would like Virgin to do also is to have a greater number of whole series of TV shows on the IFE (not just one or two episodes of each show). I got through both season 1 and 2 of VEEP on my way back from Sydney which is brilliant. When I last flew VS out of LHR the IFE seemed to only have one or two episodes of a show.

Also, if the LHR 747s are sticking around for a bit, would like to see them refurbished and with Vera Touch installed.

I take my own pjs. They don't take up too much space.

I agree about full seasons of tv shows as what is the point of just one or two episodes when you are on a long flight. No problem to watch a entire series.

Because all the drinks are in the same carts and most crew can't be bothered to take sufficient red wine out in time to allow it to warm to room temp/prevent it from getting chilled. The being said it wouldn't be practical to do that for economy - 15 or so bottles lying around the galley keeping in chilled isn't a good idea.

The full series thing bugs me. BA had full series of house of cards outbound from UK in August last year. Inbound they only had 3 episodes so I couldn't finish it. Virgin ditto only had the episodes I've seen.

VS does do a good job on some series though - they had all of breaking bad S1 in November.

What annoys me most as a frequent flyer is fact I've SEEN most of the films on the planes and TV series. I'd love VS as a 2014 wish item to have some live TV - minimal amounts. But some. Also I'd love *lots* more changes in the material offered. I've been on Virgin several times where the material has not altered much over 6 month periods.

So more material, live TV, and more frequent refresh.

I must add BA has all the same issues - but does have more episodes of series's.

Get rid of the 333's on the Caribbean runs and return to the 744's with a full PE bubble.

Add YYC to the route list so there is competition with Air Canada and the Dark Side (surely there is room there with only 2 airlines flying from LHR and a new terminal at YYC opening soon)

Don't become Delta.

Stop the slow move to a LCC model (charging for seat booking and extra leg room etc)

Lead the market don't just follow

SRB to take a more proactive role in the business

All unlikely but you can dream

I agree with this, was gutted when SQ sold their shares.
I would like to see UC returned to bring a premium product as it once was, ie:
Proper amenity kits
Freedom menu

The red wine in upper class is not in the same cart as the white wine. Both carts come from the catering company in chilled vans and therefor the red wine is still chilled from that point. The red wine cart is also stowed in a different location to the white wine cart and this stowage position isn't a chiller position. It certainly isn't because the crew can't be bothered separating the red/white wine.

How about delivering a "flying in the face of ordinary" product.

And then making sure that such delivery is consistent.

That would be nice.

On the other hand, as that is all just advertising bullsh*t anyway, how about improving the Y wines ...and the food?
:(

Actually can I add that wouldnt it be cool if VS did a brainstorming session with some v-flyers?
seems like we have a lot of good ideas - some realistic some pipedreams but isnt that the point of a brainstorming session?

gfonk - dunno if it's just me - but they do contact me regularly as part of the x-plane panel - which I'm happy enough with.

I admit they should do something for the more vocal of us here/on FT I guess.
