New to FC Gold, which lounges do we get access to?

Hi folks

I've recently reached Gold and am awaiting the welcome pack. I can't seem to get a clear answer on which lounges Gold status gets you access to. The lady at the call centre said just the Club house at LHR, but this doesn't sound right based on other posts about the Servisair lounge I have seen.

My usual route is on Little Red from MAN to LHR and back. So that's Terminal 3 at MAN and Terminal 1 at LHR. Yes, gate 8 is nice with its Costa and the views, but it would be nice to grab a drink from the lounge on the rare occasion the flight is delayed.

What's the score? and do you need an invitation from the Check-in desks?

As an AU card holder, you do indeed get access to all the lounges VS use on all their routes plus Revivals (the VS arrivals lounge) at LHR.

To be honest though, don't even bother with the lounge VS use for Little Red flights in LHR T1, it's a waste of a journey being at the complete opposite end of the international departure area in T1. It's a horrible lounge with no windows.

The Escape lounge VS use at MAN in T3 is well worth a visit, though again it's a fair trek from the lounge to the departure gate VS use in T3.

It's the Servisair lounge in T1 although as mitchja says it's about as far away as you can get from gate 8, and it's a dreary, soulless place. A free drink is really all it's good for.

You do need an invitation to get in - either from check-in or from the VS transfer desk near the bottom of the stairs up to the lounge.

I concur with mitchja about the MAN T3 Escape lounge - as shared lounges go it's very pleasant with great staff and superb runway views. In theory you need an invitation there as well although they'll often let you in with just your gold card & BP.

We can only hope for better things once Little Red move to T2 at LHR at the end of the year ...
