Interesting little article on the A340's here, although not sure that the $ figures really make sense? That said the A340's seem doomed either for the scrap yard or for high-density seating layouts. A real shame especially for the lovely A346.

By my calculations, this may be G-VSUN. Is G-VEIL going to leave soon, it is the oldest in the A340-600 fleet

It looks like G-VSSH (Sweet Dreamer) and G-VNAP (Sleeping Beauty) will be gone by the end of this year.
They are being offered for sale or long term lease by Airbus, and will be available from January and February 2015 respectively.

I doubt it. G-VEIL was repainted in the new colours fairly recently.
They must have a system they are working to.
Once G-VFAR goes in 6 months or so, you would have thought the 2 remaining A343s would be next on the list, but they seem to want to unload the A346s as soon as they can. Not exactly good news for Airbus.

That means all Airbus A340-600's delivered in 2005 (which is G-VSSH,G-VNAP, G-VGAS and G-VWKD) which are on ten year leases, leave next year. Sad to think that. However as G-VGAS was repainted recently, it should stick around for longer
Are any 747's leaving anytime soon?

The next A340-600s to go are:

G-VSSH (Sweet Dreamer) January 2015
G-VNAP (Sleeping Beauty) February 2015
G-VEIL (Queen of the Skies) April 2016

These are the ones currently being advertised by Airbus Asset Management.
I think some of the remaining ones are to be refurbished.
Hope this helps. :)

G-VSSH has now left the fleet, it positioning to Manchester from Manila Maintenance as VS814P. G-VNAP has also left the fleet, it going to Manila Maintenance for end of lease maintenance. Im sad to see G-VNAP go, as this was the other A340 i had as a Gemini Jets model with G-VSHY. Im surprised G-VEIL is going as this received new colours
