I have never managed to get the app to work. I can't get VFlyer to work on my phone either. How does everyone else manage on an iPhone?

Does the app update improve/add anything?

The update is rubbish as the aircraft data now takes ages to load, if it loads at all.

You can still bookmark (i.e., add to your home screen) what used to be within the VS app by going to http://v-flyer.net

Eventually, however, there will be no need to have a separate iPhone version as the new version of the site will be 'responsive' (meaning it'll automatically resize itself to whatever the screen resolution is - so phones in landscape or portrait mode, tablets, laptops and desktops with acres of screen estate). Planning on having that ready in the first half of this year.

Marshy11 I think I know what you mean I used to have issues with it flicking between the v-flyer
App and the website which wasn't as easy to navigate on the iPhone
However now I'm on a note 3 (I know I know I jumped ship lol more on that another time lol) I use the full website version for v-flyer. However more importantly virgin don't have an android app? :-(
So I will have to use my old iPhone which is now effectively an I pod touch to check up on the 343s on the NRT route

When I try and view VFlyer on my iPhone 5 via Safari (i.e. not an app) this is all I get when I try to login or post.

This the the screen shot as it opens when I click REPLY, NEW POST or LOGIN.

This is the same screenshot but scrolled right.

Then, if I hit the LOGIN, it does nothing. I can see all the forum and threads but if I try and LOGIN or REPLY it's useless. Not sure if it's me or the page?

It's a little shocking that they even bothered to update this app - without doubt one of the most embarrassing airline apps on the market.

The sooner this is completely redesigned the better. This has Zero functionality. VS might want to look at the Easyjet app... it's better than most out there.

Pete looks good and thanks - I now have the V Flyer piece back - but just like marshy11 I get the grid on the left and all the text on the right squashed up. this is if I look at flight status for instance.

This is on an iPhone 5S - iOS 7.0.4 and Safari

Does anyone know about Virgins new app as a few months back they said they would no longer be issuing any updates for the existing app as a new one would be coming in early 2014, but they have gone very quiet on this front.

could this be the normal VS tech guys realizing they underestimated how long it would take them again.

VS are currently pulling together a programme to update all web/mobile/everything apps. Yeah, we've all heard that before (and no, it's never happened) - but given some recent BIG "glitches", I dare say this is the time the cookie will crumble, and they're going to have to just get on and do it.

Really hope they do. Im already missing the iphone app now I have galaxy.
In this day and age its a bit behind the times for a company like VS not to be up to date with technology.
