Hi all
So i have only stayed at the Jury's Inn and the Radisson at LHR.
And both were OK though I favour the latter, my question is this; if money was no object, which hotel do you guys and gals think is the coolest for a stay the night before a midday flight from LHR (within a 30 min drive)?

Sofitel at T5 - even though it's T5 you can easily walk back to the terminal and take the HEX to T3.

Agreed, I was there for a function last year and it was a great hotel. I wasn't even flying anywhere! Think the room was well under £100 as well.

Oh yeah I was wondering about that too as apparently the Radisson doesn't have any airport view rooms, which I find strange for a hotel which is on the outer perimeter

Have thought about staying there before when flying from LHR but something has always stopped me , not quite sure why or what but the location is obviously appealing

For a decent deal on the Sofitel - check out lastminute.com secret hotels - is often available on there for under £100, is the only 5* hotel at heathrow so is easy to see on there!

I have heard that too but how was the food?

Sofitel from me too. Can works out as a good rate with included parking.

Stayed at the premier inn once, staff a bit odd (didn't seem confotable 2 men sharing a bed) and the bed was so uncomfortable! Had a terrible nights sleep. But for the price it wasn't worth complaining.

Nothing special, the OH had a pizza which was ok. I can't even remember what I had but the portion was small. I wouldn't go back.
The cocktail bar has a great selection of drinks and a great atmosphere. The cocktails are amazing so I don't mind the price so much. I do prefer the lgw cocktail bar tho...more of a buzz there as most of the ppl are off on their hols!

I had a similar experience with Premier Inn at Gatwick, a young man checking us in was a bit weird about the fact we'd booked a double room and insistently tried to offer us a twin room. I stood my ground but made a note of his name and when I got my follow up email asking for feedback, I named him and the issue and said he needs "diversity training" and they were lucky I didn't take extreme offence at his reactions. I never heard from them at all about the issue so have kind of avoided Premier Inn since then. v( v(

Back on topic, the Sofitel does look nice. Have stayed at the Arora as I know the chain and the standard is pretty good. I really love the Radisson Blu at Stansted so am thinking the LHR might be good, but if I can get the Sofitel at the right price for my trip in May then I'll give it a go. I wouldn't be willing to pay the rates showing at present for my dates, not for an airport hotel anyway.

That's interesting. I understand it's the only 5 star hotel at LHR so it could well be, depending on what distance from desired location they've put. I'll check it out, thanks.

Hmmm... It's coming up at less than £100 for my dates in May too. How easy is it to get back to T3 cos this is looking very tempting?

Of course, transport between terminals is free on bus or train. Don't know how I forgot that.
