I will be visiting London from the US March 13th-19th. This is my first time in the UK, and I am looking for suggestions for hotels.

I am looking for a hotel with the best location and easy access to the tube and popular attractions.

I was considering Le Meridien in Piccadilly, but I was hoping for an insiders perspective.

I have an open budget so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again!

Hi

Your question is likely to prompt as many answers as there are hotels in London ): ):

Whilst access to the Tube is of course important, what you intend to see and do in London will largely influence the area to choose to stay.

A favourite of mine is the Hilton Tower Bridge - close to the Tube (London Bridge station and the Jubilee Line), but if you want to shop then you might want to consider being more closer to the Weest End.

I am sure many here will only be too happy to give advice :D

Do you have any hotel loyalty preference for points earning? The Meridien is very convenient and is a nice hotel, if you're a Starwoods elite the lounge there is quite good for breakfast etc.

If money truly were no object then the Connaught is my favourite among the elite hotels - but perhaps something less popular but very British such as Dukes Hotel in Piccadilly (very nice and you get good martinis!).

As Buns said though, everyone will have a favourite that is likely to be different.

The Connaught.

The Connaught, Claridge's and The Berkeley are doing a four nights for price of three just now.

Make sure your travel agent knows or if you email ask for the offer.

Depends if you're after points good value or the nicest you can stretch to.

Have look at The Soho Hotel - stunning service, great bar and close to lots.

We love the Waldorf Hilton, it's great for theatres, the Strand, Trafalgar Square, House of Commons, Buckingham Palace, etc. We usually send an email before we arrive with our requests for room types, etc.

It also does great afternoon tea, the exec lounge serves complimentary drinks & canapes from 6pm to 8pm, & has a health club with indoor pool & the cocktail bar "Good Godfrey" is brilliant.
