Hi everyone, new to posting but have lurked for a while!

By a curious twist of fate, my husband and I are set to sample upper class for the first (and second) time this year. First up is a trip to St Lucia next month courtesy of miles and to Orlando later in the year. Having flown with Virgin 1-2 a year for the last 7, I think it's overdue!
Anyway, my question.....where in Gatwick South terminal is the clubhouse and how long before a flight should/do you enter it? I fancy having a treatment, so would need to allow time for that. How far is it from the gates?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi and welcome.

The LGW Clubhouse is on the upper level of the main departure lounge. When you clear security, instead of going downstairs go through the door on the right just before the escalator, and follow the passageway into the departure lounge. Turn right and look for the Clubhouse entrance on your right about halfway along the balcony.

The LGW Clubhouse is much smaller than the LHR one and has a more limited range of treatments but I'd give yourself 2-3 hours to enjoy some breakfast, a treatment and the obligatory pre-flight cocktail or three!

I've only used that Clubhouse a couple of times but from memory it can get pretty busy from around 8.30/9 so I'd suggest getting there before that and book your slot in the spa as soon as you arrive. The gates are about 10 mins walk (15 if your flight goes from the old satellite, gates 31-39).

Enjoy.

Hi Teallach

Welcome!!

How lovely to be sampling the delights of UC :)

The CH is signposted & I'm sure you'll be given directions by ground staff. It's on the first floor sort of opposite W.H Smith.

Many pax arrive 2-3 hours before their flight & this is perfectly acceptable. Some arrive hours before their flight.

Some treatments are complimentary & others are paid for. When you are welcomed into the CH by the staff, head straight for the treatments area to enquire what treatments & time slots are available, & then work everything else around this, even popping back out for any duty free items if you require/need/want any.

I like the LGW CH but I also like the LHR one too. Both are very different. I have no doubt others will give their opinions.

Whatever you do, ENJOY!!!! Just think of all the saving up of points that you have done over the years to be able to sample the delights of the CH.

Don't forget to post a TR, we all enjoy reading them.

That link for the spa didn't work.

There seems to be a far more limited menu for free treatments in the spa in gatwick than there is in heathrow. I've never failed to get something in LHR, but never managed to get any in LGW...

Try that with copy and paste, the link version just defaults to the homepage.

Then click the Clubhouse Spa tab on the right.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'd seen the spa details already Smid but thanks for trying the link anyway. Our flight is a 9.40am, so we'll be in the clubhouse nice and early 8D The only thing I can't find on the Virgin website is the opening time for it. I see that Heathrow is open from 7am so I assume that Gatwick will be the same

If you search this site for Gatwick Opening you'll get some hits that report a slightly earlier opening - 6.15 In some. I'm fairly certain that when we used it for the first time a couple of years back it was open by 6.30.
