just noticed i got a free little red flight after our trip UC to DXB last week, wasn't expecting that :)

i assume it needs to be booked by phone, does anyone know...

is availability restricted, or is it redeemable on any LR flight with empty seats?

is it really free, or are taxes/whatever still payable?

my other half is AG on the family account but her FC number wasn't on the booking, so hoping we'll get another LR flight once we do a missing miles claim

The free Little Red flight was part of the UC bonus miles & tier points promotion VS ran last Sep/Oct, which you presumably signed up for.

Yes, you have to call up to redeem and yes, they are free of taxes & fees.

Don't know about availability I'm afraid (not that it's usually an issue on LR).

Did your other half register for the promotion too? If not, she might not qualify - don't know how it works with family accounts though so you're best off asking VS.

i can't remember signing up for it, but i tend to click on every offer on every airline/hotel program on the basis it might pay off!

thanks for the info

You should also have got 50% bonus miles and 2 extra TPs for each UC leg of your DXB trip.

If you look at your Flying Club account online, they should be clearly listed as "Upper Class promotional bonus".

I've just returned from my Little Red flights to EDI following trip in Nov in UC to LAS. It was free and it allowed me 2 flights so my husband came along too.

I did book it over the phone and you do have to get availability in a certain booking class, which I think could be T(?). The way I checked for availability is to do a dummy "spend your miles" booking and that will show you which flight is available. Once you have found a suitable date/time, just give flying club a call to book it.

Me too, except mine was a reward fare outbound, paid premium upgraded to upper with miles inbound ?|

Wonder if it's a mistake. There is nothing showing on my account ?|

It's probably worth a phone call tho.

I have also got 2 free LR flights, don't know if we will be able to use them (which is a shame as I never win anything).

As we live in between any available airport, it would cost us nearly as much if not more to use them, with petrol and parking plus hiring a car when we got to Scotland. We worked it out it would take us 7 hours to drive and have the car available for scenic routes on the way. OH well. :( Linda

I just booked our free LR flights to EDI
All free and no restrictions.
Only disappointment is it says it's operated by aer lingus:-(
I really wanted to experience LR proper (sorry HL)

Don't worry! All LR flights are operated by Aer Lingus but you wouldn't really know it as the planes and crews are VS branded and the service is most definitely Virgin even though the crew actually work for EI.

As gumshoe said, LR is leased from Aer Lingus but has been painted in Virgin colours and the cabin has been fitted with Virgin seating as opposed to EI. You'll only have an EI plane if a LR one has gone for maintenance or gone tech and they've had to fly one in from Dublin.
