LHR 747 on MBJ to LGW?

Hi, I've just managed to select seats for our flight on 6th April (MBJ to LGW). This route has always flown the LGW configured 747 but today its showing as LHR type 747?! Does anyone know why this is? ?|

Apart from more UC seats what are the main differences between the UC offering on these aircraft?

The only other difference is the IFE. The Gatwick fleet has the new touchscreen system, whilst the Heathrow fleet doesn't, although it still has the ability to pause the films. (oh, and a slightly bigger bar area)

No, there are exactly the same, although the Gatwick fleet got a spruce up during the refits. y)

Why are they using a Heathrow plane ?, could be for many reasons, strong upper sales, a Gatwick plane getting "serviced", better use of their fleet etc etc, but apart from the different IFE, more upper seats and the bigger bar you wouldn't notice any difference.

It's not unusual for an LHR 747 to operate to the Caribbean on certain days, as there is more demand for UC than the LGW fleet can provide.

So which aircraft have the "new Upper Class Suite"?

Only the A330s have the new 'dream suite'

There does appear to be a LHR 747 operating out of LGW in March/April as there was another post on here about it plus it's showing up for flights to and from HAV although not sure that route will have a high demand for UC

How do the service levels compare on LHR 747s vs LGW 747s as there are 44 UC seats vs 14?

Do the downstairs UC cabins share the same CC or do they have their own? Do they serve food & beverage front to back or vice versa?
