Having hit the post Australia slump, it's time to decide on a summer holiday. At the moment it's a toss up between a week at the Edinburgh Festival and "somewhere in the Caribbean".

I have a backup plan as to where the "somewhere" might be, but I wonder whether it's time to try somewhere else and am hoping to tap the wisdom of the V-F crowd. I'm not particularly bothered about which island / country, but what we look for in accommodation is..

1. Boutique style -though will go larger if the "feel" is right, but not a "resort"
2. All inclusive option
3. Child free - or at least no kids clubs or other overly family friendliness
4. Easy beach access

So, it's up to the V-F team. Is it to be nights under the stars, fine dining and rum punches or nights under the umbrella, unsuitable fried things and cheap lager?

Thx

Paul

We went to Sun Palace in Cancun last year. Its adult only right on a fab beach food and drinks were all lovely. Would defo go back. Its a small hotel compared to some in cancun and you also have access to the other Palace hotels

Spice Island on Grenada looks nice. But not, in my opinion, as nice as this just off Antigua.

Another vote for The Bodyholiday at LeSport. We haven't been for a couple of years but have always had an outstanding time there.

I wouldn't really class it as a resort, nor boutique. It has a very personal friendly feel to it and it really is a holiday to suit all tastes!

Hotel Chocolat further down the coast is also good, set amongst the cocoa plantation with fantastic views of the pitons.

I'd thoroughly recommend either!

If St Lucia is the location, I rather think that the excellent Paul might have the also excellent East Winds in mind.

You know me too well. That's the backup.
