aka. James Spader stole my Fedora (sorry guys forgot it.. :# )

Greetings V-Flyers from the LHR CH where a full english breakfast has been enjoyed not to mention a drink or two..

A bit of a madhouse in here at the moment, and unfortunately service has been a bit hit and miss in the brasserie (bar and restaurant). I am sure once it empties out a bit the service will pick up.

I was slated to be on the VS1, but as I wanted to meet Hull for a beverage or two and also wanted to get into Manhattan a little earlier to enjoy the Saturday, I opted to arrive early - very early. VS3 is full, and delayed :P ... so the VS45 it will have to be (not flown this in a few years so fingers crossed the CBP are on form at JFK)

A few dramas this morning ranging from a taxi mounting a lamp post when passing Kew Gardens to a Tristar driver telling porkies and, instead of admitting he simply missed the ramp onto the DTCI, opted to tell me the Drive-Thru was closed today.... not impressed, as it is always a great part of the experience (Neither were VS.. ): When I left the check-in area the supervisor was on the phone with Tristar asking how they could be so ‘misinformed’ :P)

No sign of the Google Glass or Sony watch... PR wheels with the press in motion it seems ii)

Back to my mojito - hope all have a good weekend. 8D

Cheers guys, just letting Dom and his boarding pals finish off their breakfast whilst I chase Tristar on why I wasn't allowed to use the DTCI - according to the staff here, I was deemed 'not eligible' between my house (in car check-in was completed) and the airport - No idea why...

Nope... although I was deemed 'unfit' to use the drive thru I still went through the wing and not a google glass in sight, the CH staff don't seem to be aware of it either ii) Perhaps it is only with certain times of the day/pax.

When exactly did you start drinking? :D

Ha... didn't think of that :P

They are looking into it for me; but I get the feeling that a different car was sent to collect me than the one they were expecting at the wing.

Will see what I can come up with for you Paul. Perhaps something of a VF bed time story this time around... Once upon a time, there was an intrepid explorer who went by the name of joeyc...

The 45 performed well... flight was pretty solid, crew were not bad, food was fair and drinks flowed freely ): I spent most of it in my seat watching the IFE - the people at the bar were a tad boring, so I left them to it after appropriating as much of the whiskey and green tea as I could carry.

Sorry Jon I missed out on the Gold Card cocktail this time around, will see if they have one at the JFK CH.

Ahhh the immigration queues - well it will shock y'all to know that I was the first to pour off the plane and race the corridors to arrive into a nearly empty immigration hall :0 :0 :0 The CBP officer was friendly :0 :0 :0 :0 and with a single fingerprint and photo taken I was through in about 5 minutes.

Travelling with just carry on luggage, I was in a taxi and away from JFK within about 20 minutes of landing. The real delays came from getting into Manhattan - 2 hours in the back of a taxi stuck in traffic.. fortunately I had some eps of Arrow left on my iPad to entertain me whilst the taxi driver was swearing at other drivers and singing along with the radio. Ahhh, the impatience of the NYC cabby ii)

Shame about the trip into Manhattan but you can't have it all I guess .

As a follow up to the limo fiasco .... I have managed to get the answer from VS (Tristar being so damned unhelpful it is very tempting to complain to customer service, about their customer service :P)

Ultimately VS dropped the ball and failed to confirm with Tristar the car that was being sent. The limo driver did lie to me in saying the drive thru was closed when in actuality he was simply not eligible to use it..

Miles offered, and declined (I have enough of those..) Duty Free vouchers offered.. and accepted :D

Top marks VS CS .. a satisfied customer y) y)

Ha ha ha, it takes time but there is such a thing McCoy.... I think the duty free vouchers will find a much more immediate use (in whiskey no doubt) than the initial mileage offering.

Honestly I was not looking for compensation, just making sure I had done everything correctly... appears I had :P

Absolutely right ^^^^ Been off forum for a while and thought for a second I read that Joey turned down miles. Though have to give him huge kudos for thinking of alcohol - keeping to the V-Flyer gospel

Ha ha, Mark gets it... I foresaw myself spending the duty free vouchers more easily than adding another few thousand miles to my mileage bank.

I was not asking for compensation of any sort in the first place, so I think the simple gesture of 'having a drink' on VS is perfectly fair in the circumstance.

Cheers 8D

I'm afraid not, we went through the DTCI just after Joey and no Google Glasses in sight.
