Dudes, our seat selection is now available and im trying to figure out which ones will be the best as a couple. the plane is a A340-600

so far ive selected 4A and 5A but I don't know if its better for her to be in the middle (4D)?

were off for our wedding so I wouldnt mind at least a little time actually speaking to the other half (10 minutes or so should be enough)

what do you think?

Personally I always prefer seats next to each other rather than opposite.

It's easy to natter whilst you sit on your own ottoman and you still feel like you are next to each other. Opposite you are almost invisible to one another.

From memory the D seats don't have air vents, but it's been a long time since I've been A346, so will happily be corrected.

Congratulations by the way!

I'd stick to the same side. You're quite a distance apart for any conversation across the aisle (basically 2 * body length + the aisle).

You can ask them to setup only one of your tables at meal time and then dine together, with one of you sat on the ottoman.

sorted, ill stick to the same side.

ill look into the 10/11a option - any reason that far back? Apart form being closer to the bar?

I'm not personally a fan of the early K seats as they are a bit to close to the toilets for my liking, so 10/11A are some of the first of the A seats that face the wall, which is good for offering more privacy.

Stops at 9 then the galley/WC/bar then straight into 14/15/16

If that's the case it is a A340-300.

In which case, we like 6, 7 and 8 A or K.

Regardless of the configuration, I think it is generally better to be adjacent rather than opposite. Neither is ideal for couples, but that's partly because the UC seat is quite private. Actually, perhaps for some couples that's ideal. :)

I'm going to go against the grain a little and say that we have tried next to each other and opposite, and we preferred the latter.
I think it's because we liked being able to see each other even if communication wasn't particularly easy.
We had 2A & 3D on the VS23 and found them to be good seats.
