I am travelling UC JFK-LHR can anyone advise preferred seat choice
Hi, do you know which a/c type you will be flying on? If not the date so we can work it out, there are a number of different a/c types that fly to JFK so knowing that will allow people to offer their advice on the best seats
On the LHR 747s the best UC seats are at the front on the main deck, rows 12-19. Just seven rows of two in a very private cabin (though 12A & K are very close to each other, so great for couples but not so good for singles).
Failing that the bubble - but that's the snooze zone on overnight JFK flights so no meal service up there.
The rows to avoid are the 20s where it's 4 seats to a row.

Thank you so much really appreciate your advice
Can concur with the seat advice. "Nose" seats also mean you will be off first, a huge boost at JFK and the queues can be horrendously long.
We flew out in November to JFK there is a TR which may give you some more info.

On the 747s, 19A is the seat I always fight for (probably shouldn't be saying that).. why?
It's the closest to the front door and you can often be the very first person off. It's near the coat cupboard so if you had a jacket hung up, you can get it quicker. You don't have to pass anyone to get to the nearest toilet but it's not right on top of you. You don't have anyone sat behind you. You have the furthest distance between you and the person opposite as is possible on any Virgin flight (in my experience).. it's perfect if you want to be as secluded as possible without being on top of someone else (e.g. 1A/1K or the far end of the nose).
As a solo traveller, I challenge anyone to come up with a rationale for any other seat being better
