Is it just me or a known problem?

Every time I use Shops Away as a portal to purchase goods online the system rarely credits my miles as "pending".

As such I am having to repeatedly email Virgin to get my credits.

Not a very reliable system is it?

I use this quite a lot and my miles get automatically credited each month, albeit with a little delay. I'm not sure what the T's & C's say about the amount of time it should take but I know someone out there has read them....

since they withdrew the miles finder browser add-on, i find i forget to use it, but when i do the miles are always there

maybe it varies with the shop involved?

according to shops away, the timing is...
up to 5 days to appear in pending
up to 45 days to be approved by the retailer
then credited to your FC account within 24 hours

That makes sense, SG, as my miles float for a while (retailer) and then appear y)

I used to go through this all the time too... it annoyed so much with the time taken chasing miles that were always contested I now use the BA Gate 365 system. It is so much more reliable and if any problems arise, they are quick to respond and help get those avios into your account y)

I use Shops Away on all three of our accounts. They always credit, some take a little longer than others.

But I do make sure I clear my cookies/cache before I purchase.

It must be me then ;)

I shall try clearing the cache before I buy.

Not tried Gate365 yet but I am concentrating on my VS miles for now.

I stopped using Shops Away about 2 months ago and now use topcashback.co.uk

In those 2 months I've already amounted £84 in cash back and although they do not have VS miles as a payout option you can get it paid in cash and buy VS miles which is a better option as my £84 will currently buy me nearly 5000 miles which is a load more than I would ever get with the average 1 mile for £1 spent at Shops Away or I might just save the money for the yearly holiday 8D

I bought some new furniture via JLP at Christmas when they had 4 x miles per pound so a shedload of points. I very rarely buy through someone only offering 1.

You should have a read of this http://www.headforpoints.com/2013/03/06 ... -50-avios/ which is a better way of converting out of TCB into miles/avios via Tesco Clubard.

I've earned up to 16 points per £ before - with hotels.com I think.

Shops Away is actually pretty generous for many retailers - and there's a much, much larger choice than BA Gate 365.

I'd forgotten all about Shops Away - had upgraded my software and the gizmo that nags you to use it had vanished - I gather it's gone anyway. Must remember to use Shops Away as well as my Virgin Amex card.

Over the last week it has credited JLP miles directly (within 24 hours)but failed to credit purchases via iTunes and Boden.

So more claim emails sent. :?
