I don't have kids and wouldn't like crazy kids running around or screaming!
But! Last time I flew with my nephew, who is 3, I was under the influence and started winding him up! Double standards or what!
We were both terrible! In the end an older passenger told us both off, so we calmed down! My mother and partner were not impressed!
Kids in UC? Yes! As long as I can get drunk and play hide and seek with them!

I like others here have never really been bothered by kids on flights. It's the drunk guys on stag does that have been my biggest annoyance. On my first and definitely last flight to an English resort on a Spanish island (oh the irony) a bunch of "lads" were singing football songs so loudly that the captain announced that if they didn't pipe down he would drop them off in the middle of nowhere in Portugal to which everybody applauded.
Anyway as roxypopsy said a crying child is probably trying to communicate. And I have always seen VS CC looking out for parents with kids. I agree that you have every right as a paying customer to be there and as long as they behave reasonably (same applies to adults lol) then it's all good

I'm pleased with some of the comment here, I'm particularly jumpy when flying with my kids because I want to make sure they're not harassing anyone else, to such an extent that I rarely get any peace and quiet myself to read a book or watch a film.

My general comment is in the past we haven't bothered going anything other than economy because having any extra space is wasted on a small person (but we're going PE this year just to prove me wrong).
