You can request seats 60 days before the flight leaves, so March 17th.

PE is showing wide open that day, however remember the seat map will probably have lots of seats blacked out as soon as it opens as a large percentage are held back until check-in and for Virgin Holidays customers.

I was also wondering how you can tell how empty or full PE is? We fly 18th May to Orlando in PE on the VS27 and was wondering how full our flight was? how do you tell?

You can do load checks on sites like Flightstats or Expert flyer! while they don't give actual number of unsold seats they give a good picture for each fare bucket/class.

A load check will only tell you how full a flight is - ie whether there are 8 or fewer tickets available for sale in each cabin. If there are more than that it will just show a 9 - which could mean there are 9, 19 or 229 tickets left.

In your case PE is showing a 9 so it's far from full at the moment. You should always take load checks this far out with a pinch of salt though - they can shift plenty of seats in 2 months, not to mention upgrades on the day. So just because PE's not looking busy now doesn't mean it won't be on the day.
