I noticed a post saying upgrades may become scarcer because Delta customers can upgrade using their miles.
Has anyone done the reverse and if so how easy is it to upgrade on a Delta flight using Virgin miles?

We tend to holiday Feb/March in South Carolina and have flown Delta to Atlanta and on to Savannah. Last two years we have flown to Orlando with Virgn and driven up.

The Orlando route has a very small UC cabin so if upgrades are reduced it's going be difficult to get and I was just wondering if going Delta may be an easier option for upgrading on miles to their Business Class which I think equates to Virgin Upper.

Pretty sure you can't use VS miles to upgrade on DL - only for full reward seat redemptions.

Gold FC members do, though, get a free upgrade to Economy Plus which is better than nothing.

Correct - no cabin upgrades using miles.
I also heard that FC gold go on the list for comp F class (domestic only). However, there are so many elites these days in DL own programme that is highly unlikely to ever bear fruit.
Plus - if you buy a reward seat on DL it has to be roundtrip.

I've just booked a couple of DL flights and I put my AU number in and I got upgraded to ECO+ which I wasn't expecting!

Wondered whether its an actual check of my AU status or just whether it goes by the 009 number?
