From http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/importa ... el-updates

"Please note that from the 1st April 2014, the Check in Chill Out service offered in Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia and Grenada will no longer be available to our customers"

I suppose from a true check in point of view that's understandable given OLCI and more available Wifi and smart devices, but it's a b*gger in that you'll still have to be at the airport earlier anyhow to drop luggage.

I have to say that in UC it was a pain for us as they never had lounge passes or UC luggage labels, which meant queueing at the airport and the luggage reclaim on arrival.

hmm, we've used it a couple of times, if it stops then i don't see any benefit booking VS hols vs. the competition or DIY

OLCI shouldn't matter, we used it anyway, for us the CICO benefit was not having to head for the airport earlier and queue up to check bags

I agree with Sungod I think this is a bad move.

We've always used it in the Caribbean and really thought it was a good idea. The only time we've not used it was when were hideously delayed and we had to recheck in at the airport and it was carnage, everyone knows how laid back the Caribbean is ^)

To be honest I don't want to use OLCI as haven't found the internet or wifi to be that great in the hotels in the Caribbean.

absolutely, I loved the idea of checking in by the pool and not rushing to the airport, what a shame

Totally agree with the general feeling about this. Although certainly not something that would affect the overall holiday it was a real sweetener on departure day.
VS is getting more and more like an 'average' airline by the day. Gone are the days when flying with them was something extra special.
It's a real shame.

Very disappointing news, as yet another Virgin Holidays advertised perk is withdrawn, along with the offer of Bubble seats for passengers upgrading to PE/4* accommodation.
On holiday last year it was noticeable that more and more people were becoming disillusioned with VH, particularly the service from resort reps. Given they charge 'premium' prices, removing the few perks they offer could be a very bad move.
