Ok, So let me just start by saying, this was my first UC experience. Maybe because of that my expectations were higher than they should have been upon arrival. The experience overall was not bad at all, it just wasn't what I expected it would be. I booked a PE ticket and used my FC miles to upgrade to UC so, my total cost was only about 1500 USD, which is a steal. Thats why I wasn't too upset about my experience. If I had paid the 10k USD for a full price ticket, I would have been very upset! My arrival to LAX was about what I expected it to be, and I was sent to the Air France clubhouse because there is no VS clubhouse at LAX. This clubhouse is terrible....its hot, it smells, and it was very crowded. I sat there sweating for about an hour before I was boarded. The flight staff were all very pleasant, and was greeted with champagne upon arrival. The seat, and the plane however looked VERY dated. The upholstery was worn and ragged, and the entertainment console was very glitchy and had to be restarted about 10 times. The tray table was broken, and the flight staff had to use a knife to try and pry it open...that worked for dinner (thank god) but after 6 flight attendants tried and failed during breakfast, I was forced to eat my breakfast with the plate sitting on my lap...Oh well. The food was great, I had the french onion soup and the filet, all were delicious. After dinner I had a cocktail at the bar and turned in for bed. The bed was comfortable, but I was very hot and couldn't sleep soundly. Not to mention the 2 babies in the UC cabin that kept crying through the night, and the horrible smell of their diapers being changed...
.....Overall definitely an upgrade from PE, but for a full price fair definitely not worth it. If you can get an upgrade take it, but I would never pay full price. Looking forward to my return flight so I can experience the VS clubhouse at LHR
