Just wanted to post a MASSIVE thank you to all the v-flyer members for making and contributing to this amazing site y) y) y)

I'm very much a newbie here, having joined just over 2 months ago. In that time though I've basically devoted all my spare time to reading this site (along with headforpoints) and planning how to make the most of virgin's flying club. There's a huge amount of information on here that made all the arcane rules about fare buckets and upgrade availability slowly make sense. Everyone has been really helpful, happily answering my questions and reassuring me that I could do what I was hoping to.

So, after 8 weeks, three new credit cards and a LOT of internet time, this afternoon I booked 3 UC tickets MAN-LHR-JFK-BOS-LHR-MAN for a three centre city-break/skiing trip of a lifetime! As availability finally popped up for the end of feb today, I called VS customer services this afternoon and spent an hour chatting to an extremely helpful girl called C*****. We had a small wobble at first when it seemed like the BOS-LHR leg had lost an UC reward seat between me checking on the internet and getting through on the phone, but to both of our relief it magically reappeared just as we were about to discuss what else we could do - honestly, the CS rep sounded as happy as I was that it had come back!

So there we are, just 322 days to go till me, my other half and my (v excited!) 8 year old son jet off (in the luxury of UC) to New York, a few days there then a trip up to DEN for 5/6 days' skiing, followed by a couple of nights in Boston to break the homeward journey up a bit.

Well happy! :) :)

Well done on getting the flights you wanted. Glad we could all help.

Finally, one little bit more of help from me. I've redacted part of your text as forum rules do not permit the use of staff names unless permission to use them has been sought and given (and this must be indicated in your post).

Now, go and enjoy the anticipation of your trip y)

I'm already starting to scope out a trip to SFO using miles... I only booked this one 24 hours ago!

My other half was laughing at me for the spreadsheets I had made up to work all this out... till she got home from work yesterday that is :D
