Hi all. We've just reserved and paid for 2 exit row seats on VS005 LHR - MIA in November. The seat map opens up on the 25th June (hopefully!) and here's where I'm a little confused.

The blurb and the confirmation email from VS clearly state that exit row seats will be assigned at check-in. But the agent who I spoke with when I bought the seats said that we should go to the seat map on the 25th June and chose our exit row seats. I asked whether this would really be possible - how would the computer know we had paid for exit row seats and show them on the map to us but not other passengers? The reply was it will be 'fed into your booking' so you can chose them from the 25th.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm pretty sceptical that we will get to chose in advance of check in.

I as understand it - with the new system you will be able to select all seats (standard/exit row/extra leg room) when the booking window is open.

As it is a new system though, and VS IT dept, it is still untested and could easily go wrong so expect the worst, hope for the best and you might be surprised.
