I'm sure there'll be a big public launch announcement - like I said before maybe to coincide with the 30th birthday in June? That would be the perfect opportunity.

Followed, no doubt, by a scramble for seats on the maiden flight - not least from off duty crew!

Can anyone here recall previous launches, perhaps when they introduced the A340-600 or A333. I only remember there being very little fanfare about the launch of the new UCDS of which Golden Girl G-VGBR was the first to fly. IIRC - the A333 was a quiet launch with 2 class cabin config.

VGBR wasn't the first 3-cabin 333 to fly. I was on her maiden flight and this was some time after the launch of the dream suite. I think (from hazy memory) that Uptown Girl was already flying, and another one whose name escapes me.

The first LHR A333 to fly in the 3 Config was GV- RAY ( Miss Sunshine ) and that was on the VS 3 to JFK !!

3 seats in a "block" always strikes me as an awkward number - many family or frends groups are in 2's or 4's, so 3 may mean plenty of "single / seperated" people.

What about families of 3 or 5?
