Just trying to work out if I'm leaving enough time for my connection (MAN-LHR-JFK) which should be fine if everything runs ok (3 hr layover).

But... What would happen if there was a delay with the MAN-LHR flight and I missed the JFK flight at 1600? Would we be bumped into UC on the next flight or might it be a downgrade back to the economy section we bought as revenue tickets?

Because if it's all on the same booking reference you should be fine - VS have a duty to get you to JFK in the cabin you booked in.

If it's on separate bookings though, VS have no such duty as it's your responsibility to get to LHR in time. They might take pity on you (particularly if it was one of their own Little Red flights that caused the delay) but they don't have to.

Make sure your travel insurance covers missed connections - but the good news is Little Red are usually pretty punctual, and the bus transfer they lay on from T1 to T3 is very quick and easy.

Hi Etk,

Echo of Gumshoe, if MAN-LHR is late and you are on a Little Red flight VS will accommodate you free of charge on the next flight as regardless of separate tickets they treat you as if you were on a through fare.

In worst case scenario the Upper Class is full and they have to put you on another carrier whatever cabin is behind the G is what they will offer. So you upgraded from Premium to G for example, they have to (subject to availability) re-protect you in in Premium or World Traveller Plus if BA was used for example and not the Club World or in your case Economy.

Hope it all goes well though!!!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, really helpful though I'm still a bit confused:

So it's all done on one booking reference, we paid for M economy tickets and upgraded to G class UC tickets using miles. Does that mean they'd put us in another airline's business class product or just in their economy??
