As I was so late to get upgraded I couldn't get any duty free but that probably saved me some money, so again no complaints. My seat was not one I would if chosen at all last seat in the middle next to the bar. However, I loved it! It was a night flight and as I like to start off at the bar myself I can hardly be disturbed can I? I grabbed my sleep suit and a glass of bubbly and kicked back to start a movie, as soon as the seat belt sign was off I was at the bar, slight turbulence sent us back to our seats for 15 mins before I was back at the bar.
I prefer to eat a starter and desert at the bar with some wine and head back to my seat with the cheese. A full meal on that night flight is too much for me. Couldn't recall if it was cheese cake or crumble for desert and when it turned out to be both I couldn't chose. Well a perk of upper is you can always have both...so I did.
My bed was put down whilst I was at the bar and I do recall taking back the cheese and biccies but I must have fell asleep with it all on my lap so someone must have sorted me out, as I don't remember anything past that until we came in to land!
Managed to have just enough time to change back into clothes to save the embarrassment of getting off the plane in my sleep suit. Wonder if anyone has done that?
Best and worst thing if the trip was at baggage claim, my suitcase came out squished, very squished! The whole frame looked like a car wreck.....was debating saying anything in fear of forms to fill in and time it would take but realised I would have to buy a new one for the return journey so went over to the Virgin counter. I just had to show them, no explanations necessary. I was offered a new, brand new case, on the spot. He collected it from out back and I left with the new case a replacement I was happy with and my squished origanal. Life is good. Quick stop in revivals for a shower. Wish someone would put hair dryers in there with a bit more oomph and I was away.
