First trip to Vegas in Economy (sneaked in an extra "girly" trip so wanted to save $s for shopping and shows) and I have to say that - apart from a DREADFUL drinks service -I was very pleasantly surprised :)

Booked extra legroom seats and was disappointed that we couldn't pre-allocate as the new computer system was delayed but I was delighted when I did on line check in the day before and we had been assigned seats together so no mad rush to get to bag drop off early. Got text at 4am (good job I turned my phone off) to say flight was delayed by 90 mins but gave us time for extra airport shopping.

V.friendly check in staff but boy...what a shambles with the boarding. Because we normally fly PE I hadn't realised how bad it was. What't the point of calling people by seat row if you don't tell the rest of the passengers to remain seated or at least stand away from the desk. It was just chaos. Due to the delayed plane/problems boarding we didn't get our pre-take off drink but we were happy as we had a row of 3 to ourselves :D so could spread out. Extra legroom is defintely worth the £s. 3 inches doesn't sound a lot but it really made a difference. Just a shame about the FE box stuck in all of the middle seats but guess this can't be helped.

After only 15 mins the drinks service started so thought I would celebrate with a pre-dinner G&T 8D . If I'dve known it was going to be the ONLY alcoholic drinks service then I would have got some wine to have with my meal because as soon as the drinks service had finished an announcement came on to say it would the one and only chance to get alcohol. No explaination given. No stag or Hen parties or drunken passengers so just assume it was a cost cutting exercise.

Meal was surprisingly delicious :0 Had vegetable curry, caesers salad and a GU lemon desert. After dinner we only had a choice of water OR soft drinks...no tea or coffee which was very disappointing.

Just a short while later we got a mini Fab lolly (Mmm) and Pepperoni pizza slice with one small cup of water (no other choice) which were all delicious but then there was no sign of a drink for over 4 hours!!! I went to the galley to ask for a cup of coffee but a very shirty attendent told me that it was coming round soon so why couldn't I wait. They were stood having drinks/snacks themselves which is fair enough..of course they need a break...but it was over 90 mins later the coffee/tea finally came with an egg sandwich :$ and yummy chocolate biscuit. This was an hour before we landed and then they were trying to hurry us up to tidy away. I always take my own water on board as I know the attendents are busy but one cup of coffee, one drinks service and a tiny cup of water in a 9.5 hour flights is just not on...even for economy v(

Apart from the one shirty attendent the others were very friendly and all in all it was a great flight. So many movies to choose from and games to play - makes the journey go so quickly. I remembered to bring my own headseat as the free one is unusable.

The good thing about the delay was that we were the only plane waiting to go through immigration. Someone from the airport told us there were over 1000 people waiting to get through just a few hours before us ! Our bags were last off and there was a 20 minute wait to get through the "declaraion" station but hey....a week in vegas without the husbands or the kids...think we were bothered? ):

Sounds like a lazy crew as you should always be offered a drink service with the meal AND tea and coffee afterwards (turbulence dependant). I'd definitely b e writing in to complain.

Luckily I brought my own water/soft drinks on board as I read reviews that the drinks service in Economy was bad but didn't realise quite how bad. In PE they are CONSTANTLY offering you any drink you want so it was a bit of a change - but guess that's what you get for your money!
