Afternoon, for a couple of weeks now the website is really grinding my gears. On One Way and Return ABZ - LHR Little Red flight price checking, the new sale fares would appear to be non existent. No matter what one I select, despite the panel on the right showing the selected prices that I can see, once through to the checkout page, 99% of the time the price of the flights dramatically increases. It's making choosing flights a pretty lengthy process. I'm even noticing the prices fluctuating within me chosing them and deselecting them. I understand if i'm holding the last seat at that price, but on nearly every one???? It's mega frustrating. There must be something well wrong behind the scenes. They might as well just put "price hidden until checkout" as the price for every flight as changing.

I did mention this to the Au Customer Services last week and she mimicked what I was doing on the site. It was met with a..... no sir the price is actually higher than you are seeing.

I wish they would just fix this, this is basic stuff that must be costing them business. Grrrrrrrr

scruickshank, I completely agree ---- I personally feel the website is going backwards, it is worse now than it has ever been, it is more than frustrating, it is easily the least user friendly site I know, historically I would look on the website for flexible fares/upgrade availability, call FC and book them --- a 10-15 minute investigative process. :)
Now I give up after an hour of searching, not one flexible fare available for the last month on the site [although they are available when requested through FC], within the last week the spend miles options [pages] have been upgraded, however clicking on upgrades takes you now to..... the reward flights page, which you have to scroll down to cabin upgrades, this is not at all clear and introduces extra pages into something that wasn't broke, like the matrix, VS should leave the good bits alone, fix all the bad links and give us a site that is easy to navigate and a pleasure to use, how a new member of FC can be expected to navigate is beyond me!

Rant over

So this month we now have the upgrades section and the ability to choose and review Y,B,R,L,U & M class fares not working.

I emailed customerr services over a week ago and zero reply. In all honesty I would just rather it was fixed than a reply. It's totally incredible that a company with the presence of VS has the website it does. It is actually 100% now making me spend less money with them. When you search for M class fares it simply displays the cheapest, generally O class. Again this means lengthy calls to customer services that simply do not need to exist.

I am a huge VS fan, but it is chipping away at me and i'm losing a bit of faith here. I simply fail to see as the director of my own company where if something so important needs fixed, that it takes months and nobody really seems to care.

Rule number one.... never let ANYTHING get in the way of taking money from your customers who are happy to give you it.

Grrrrr

scruickshank -- the inability to search for upgradeable fares [M's, S's etc] on the VS website is now into its tenth week!

Completely agree on your rule number one -- and its costing them money in other ways, I now search on the ITA matrix for my upgradeable fares --- however this then shows fares for other airlines too, not all equal classes etc --- but is does get you comparing --- something I have not done for a long long time, being VS loyal :?

Is it worth checking on Opodo as their website is usually decent?

At least you'll have a realistic idea of what fare they are offering.

You do wonder how many people give up if a higher fare is presented and then check BA?

I've read much about the search for upgradeables being defective, but I still see the option on my bookmarked link, is it just that it doesn't return anything?

VS were asking on Twitter today people's view on the future of flying and that technology will play a role. I replied that it would be nice if they sorted out their reward fare bucket errors before looking at anything else!

The online chat facility is UTTLERY useless - unless its designed for people who don't know what an airport or a plane is... As soon as you ask a question that you really would reasonably need help with, it comes up with the "you'll need to contact flying club" response. Waste of time v(

This was actually on Twitter - in response to VS's current campaign. I think it ties in with their Canary Wharf promo at the moment as well.

But yes, online chat sucks.

Completely agree. The online chat is totally useless. Don't think I've ever had a question actually answered. See the Upgrade fare class search STILL does not work. It really is almost as if the IT department at VS doesn't exist. They seem incredibly protected and uncontactable. Just as an aside, I still have not received an email reply to my original query and as FC AU that's really really poor. Getting seriously disillusioned with VS just now, which for the most die hard of fans is worrying.
