Was about to book an UC ticket for early Sept and discoveed it showing as a A343 for both legs. Changed my dates for a week later and showed A346 as normal.

Hope this is not a regular change as I didn't enjoy the A343 when the old VS238/239 used to run and would always take the VS200/201 for this reason.

Well I would imagine the 787 will be on the route eventually. Until then as I have said previously, the 343 fuel burn is at least a third less so an attractive option if loads are predicted to be low. The 346 is a commercially suicidal aircraft at today's fuel prices and if I were VS management I would be looking to use it as little as possible

not really, it burns less fuel than a 747 and takes loads more cargo.
