Hi. Excited. Only about a month before we can pre allocate seats for our flight to Washington DC in Aug!! We just make it into the no charge for seats date on outbound flight, which is usefull. BUT am I assuming that we wont be able to pre allocate our seats for the inbound flights 2 weeks later until after June 25th when there will be a charge or wait until 24 hours before checkin in Washington ? don't think we will be able to pre allocate inbound flights at the same time as outbound so saving the charge , is that right ? our flights outbound are mid Aug
If your return flight is after Aug 24th then yes, you will have to pay to select seats in economy.
thanks gumshoe, thought it might be
ah !! I stand corrected with myself !! as I booked flights before Dec 16th when all the changes came in, I don't think I will have to pay to allocate seats for eturn flight in Sep
Ah yes, in that case it will still be free.
The Tokyo route, for some reason, will also remain free for all passengers.

How many of us think the VS IT system will be able to cope with the demand for allocating seats come 25th June.

On the basis of past performance, anything could happen!
Having said that, it's only "those in the know" (ie V-Flyers and other clued up folk) who understand the significance of June 25, and in the grand scheme of things they make up a very, very small percentage of passengers.
