With new routes opening up to places like DXB, to name one, do you think there is any possibilty of the Arrivals lounge being kept open, where the arrival times are in the evening?
Are these UC PAX being sold short?

Pix- maybe a poll to see opinions

Personally, I think the need for an arrival lounge is way lower after a day flight than a night flight, but I guess if it was there I would use it :), so yes please.

Although the demand is probably lower in the evening, I think it should be open for all flights,as these J pax don't get all the ammenities that others do. Maybe they should do a survey, like the IFBT, at the beginning of the flight to find out whether pax are going to be using revivals and then judge that way.

Cheers,

I would like to see the arrivals lounge kept open as well as a lounge at Gatwick! May reasons are that we are from the north of England so have to travel down to fly with Virgin. What this means is we are usually hanging around the airport waiting for our connection or getting the train from Euston! Either way it means we can have quite a long wait.

If we are travelling with BA in First or Club World we can use their arrivals lounge, but also their departure lounge while waiting for the flight up to Manchester, even if this flight is the cheapest ticket going!
With Virgin we are stuck hanging around the airport, which after paying for UC is a little annoying. Not to mention if some of the morning flights arrive in late you can hardly make it to the arrivals lounge as it is!!

My vote is for it to be kept open, I often arrive after it has closed and would use it.

I always feel sorry for the second LA flight, has always been the misfortunate one. First you have to make do with J2000 unless you're lucky and then I think you get the GNF service then you land and no arrivals.

Hmm it was on 12 November and I did point out to SRB's secretary it was iniquitous. The reply was that they were reviewing it especially in light of the poor service in the AC lounge pre take-off. Does that mean they have canned GNF on the 24? If so that's great and testament to people power!!![y]

Where does it say on the manage your booking page if the flight is GNF or not?

I've just had a look on my VS200/201 booking and can't see any mention of it....

Hope its been canned on my flight too....

I have only ever arrived at LHR on a VS flight from India in the early evening. I know that I would appreciate the chance to grab a quick shower before jumping in the limo. Keep it open!

Yes indeed, I will feel decidedly short changed arriving back from NRT at 1545 with no revivals!

i rang vs and asked them but they said it isnt a GNF because it departs before 9pm but maybe they got it wrong.

I can understand closing the Arrival Lounges mid-day for commerical reasons. If you ever go to the lounge past 11 am (last flight in from JFK)- it is deserted. At least every time I have been in there, this is the case. Staff look really bored.

Also the Arrivals Lounge is meant to appeal to full-fare business pax who have to flight in early for a full day of meetings in the office without being able to check in at a hotel to refreshen up. Most hotels allow check-in after 2 pm so airlines (BA and VS alike) feel that this service is unnecessary. Business pax who arrive in the afternoon and evenings are unlikely to go directly into the office and require Arrivals Lounge facilities.

Interesting point of view but what about all the non business PAX who fly UC from around the world, and arriving "home" as to say.
The reason I asked the inital question was that I want the whole VS experience, but at the moment it is limited to me arriving at LHR and only in the morning. I pay the same money as all other UC PAX but will get a reduced service.

Only my thoughts though:)

The VS024 does have the GNF service at the moment. However look out for GNF changes coming in early 2006....
